Managing Director / Electrician
Ben has worked with generators for more than 15 years across the industrial, mechanical and construction sectors as a qualified electrical contractor. He works closely with customers to make sure every project and application gets the best outcome.
Operations Manager / Electrician
Darren has been with Eastern Generators for 8 years as a lead electrician on install projects. His communication and project management skills drive our operations, and he holds close relationships with many of our clients.
Mechanic
James brings extensive mechanical experience in the generator and power solutions industry, specialising in service delivery and maintenance operations. He leads our field technicians with a strong focus on safety, efficiency and reliability.

More than 25 years. We are a family-run business based in Kilsyth in Melbourne's east, founded by Managing Director Ben Cresswell, and we have covered generator hire, sales, servicing and installation the whole way through rather than adding them on later.
Rarely. Our electricians, mechanics and fitters are on staff and on call 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, so on almost every job the crew on site is ours: the same team sizes the work, installs it and services it afterwards. Specialist inspections are brought in, and when the workload spikes we occasionally supplement the team with subcontractors we have worked with for years.
Australia-wide. Most of the work is Melbourne and greater Victoria, where we hold hire stock in Kilsyth and run our own delivery fleet, but we go wherever the job is: Australia Post facilities across Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, and a Defence installation at Delamere in the Northern Territory.
The fleet runs from 20kVA up to 1500kVA, in open, silent and super-silent builds, along with the fuel tanks, cable and distribution equipment a deployment needs. Where a site needs more than a single set can give it, we synchronise multiple generators, as we did with four 550kVA units for Barwon Water.
Detailed risk assessments and safe work method statements on every project, plus pre-start checks, clearly marked exclusion zones and compliant cabling and earthing on every deployment. Our team is trained and certified across electrical, mechanical and confined-space work.
