What it runs

Heavy industrial territory

At 800kVA the hire is an engineering job. Placement, synchronising, fuel and commissioning are designed before anything leaves the yard.

Industrial plants, food processing facilities, shopping centres and infrastructure projects sit in this band. The set is usually containerised, the placement needs a crane and a plan, and the connection is a designed temporary supply with change-over gear rather than a plug.

Our large fleet is built around 500kVA and 1250kVA machines, so an 800kVA requirement is met either by the nearest single set or, more often, by synchronising sets to make the capacity. That is frequently the better engineering answer anyway, because it gives you redundancy that a single machine cannot.

  • Containerised Weatherproof, secure and built to sit on a site for the length of a program.
  • Made up by synchronising Sets run in series to reach the capacity, with redundancy a single machine cannot give.
  • Commissioned under load Load-bank tested to proof-of-capacity before the site depends on it.

It never goes out alone

A set on its own is rarely the whole job. The gear that gets it connected and keeps it running is held in our Kilsyth yard.

What happens next

From your call to power on

No triage queue and no handballing. The person who picks up is the person organising your set.

  1. You call, we answer

A real person on the phone any hour of any day, not an after-hours message bank. Tell us the site and what has gone down.

  2. We size it on the call

Our electricians and generator specialists work out what will carry the load now, and what the connection needs to look like.

  3. Dispatch and connect

The set goes out on our own float fleet, and our A-grade electricians make the connection and commission it on site.

  4. We stay accountable

Fuel management, monitoring and on-call technicians until your operation is back on, stable, and no longer needs us.

Need more than 800kVA?

The hire fleet runs from 20kVA to 1500kVA, and sets can be synchronised to make the capacity a site needs. Tell us the load and we will design the arrangement.

800kVA questions

Frequently asked

What will an 800kVA arrangement run?

An industrial plant's process load, a food processing facility through a shutdown, a shopping centre on temporary supply, or an infrastructure project with a long fixed outage window. At this scale the generator is carrying an entire operation, and the consequence of getting it wrong is production rather than inconvenience.

Do you hold a single 800kVA set?

Our large hire fleet is built around 500kVA and 1250kVA machines, so an 800kVA requirement is met either by the nearest single set or by synchronising sets to make the capacity. Synchronising is often the better engineering answer regardless, because it gives redundancy a single machine cannot.

How does synchronising work?

Sets are run in series under a common control system so they share the load. That gives you the capacity you need, redundancy if one machine faults, and the ability to take a set offline for service without dropping the site. We have designed and installed synchronised arrangements with ComAp control systems on utility and water projects.

How is a set this size delivered and placed?

On our own heavy transport, and placed with crane trucks. Access, ground bearing, exhaust clearance and the cable route are worked out before delivery day. Our licensed electricians, mechanics and fitters handle the connection and commissioning in-house.

What fuel arrangement does it need?

Bulk. Industrial fuel cells and field tanks, up to 60,000L systems, on a scheduled refuelling program run by our own trucks. At this consumption a top-up model is not a plan, so the fuel system is designed alongside the installation.

Can the arrangement be tested before we depend on it?

Yes, and at this size we would insist on it. We hold load banks and run proof-of-capacity and commissioning tests under real, measured load, including the behaviour of a synchronised pair when one machine is taken offline.
