Generator Hire

150kVA Generator Hire

A long-hire machine for sites that keep growing: construction programs, industrial plant and multi-tenancy buildings, monitored and refuelled by our own crew for as long as the job runs.

What it runs

Built for the long hire

150kVA is rarely a two-day job. This is the size that sits on a site for a season, so the things that matter are fuel, monitoring and the crew behind it.

By 150kVA the question has stopped being whether the machine will start your load and become whether the arrangement will hold up for months. Construction programs that stage up, industrial plant carrying process equipment, multi-tenancy buildings on temporary supply while the mains are rebuilt.

We hold 150kVA in the standard hire fleet and manage it as a running service rather than a delivery: scheduled refuelling from our own trucks, servicing through the hire, and technicians on call any hour of any day. Sets at this size can also be synchronised to run in series where the site needs redundancy.

  • Months, not weeks Priced and serviced as a running contract rather than a one-off delivery.
  • Parallel-ready Synchronise sets for redundancy and load bearing on sites that cannot drop.
  • Bulk fuel options Scheduled refuelling, or on-site storage from field tanks up to 60,000L.

It never goes out alone

A set on its own is rarely the whole job. The gear that gets it connected and keeps it running is held in our Kilsyth yard.

  • Refuelling trucks
  • Delivery tilt trays
  • Crane trucks
  • Industrial fuel cells
  • Temporary switchboards
  • Cable ramps and covers
  • Lighting towers
  • Load banks
What happens next

From your call to power on

No triage queue and no handballing. The person who picks up is the person organising your set.

  1. You call, we answer

A real person on the phone any hour of any day, not an after-hours message bank. Tell us the site and what has gone down.

  2. We size it on the call

Our electricians and generator specialists work out what will carry the load now, and what the connection needs to look like.

  3. Dispatch and connect

The set goes out on our own float fleet, and our A-grade electricians make the connection and commission it on site.

  4. We stay accountable

Fuel management, monitoring and on-call technicians until your operation is back on, stable, and no longer needs us.

150kVA questions

Frequently asked

What will a 150kVA generator run?

A staged construction program with cranes, hoists and site accommodation; industrial plant carrying process equipment and compressors; a multi-tenancy building on temporary supply while the mains are rebuilt; or cold storage that cannot be allowed to lift in temperature. It is a long-hire size rather than a stopgap.

Do you hold 150kVA in the fleet?

Yes, 150kVA is part of our standard hire fleet. We hold hire stock in Kilsyth and run our own delivery fleet, so lead times are ours to control rather than a third party's.

Can it be run in parallel with another set?

Yes. Units at 100kVA and above can be synchronised to run in series, which provides redundancy, load bearing and the ability to take one machine offline without dropping the site. On critical sites that is usually a better answer than a single larger machine.

Is a super-silent 150kVA available?

Our super-silent builds sit at particular sizes rather than across the whole range. If noise is the constraint on your site, tell us early and we will match you to the nearest quiet machine that carries the load, rather than sending a standard set that gets shut down by a complaint.

How is a long hire managed?

As a service, not a drop-off. Scheduled refuelling from our own trucks, servicing through the hire, and on-call technicians 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Where the duty warrants it we add bulk fuel storage, from field tanks up to 60,000L systems.

What does it cost to hire a 150kVA generator?

Almost entirely a function of term and site. A six-month contract prices very differently to a three-week job, and cable runs, a temporary switchboard, fuel and delivery all form part of the number. Give us the real program and we will quote the whole job.
