250kVA Generator Hire

Industrial-scale hire for plants, utilities and major construction. Held in the standard fleet, parallel-ready, and managed as a running contract rather than a delivery.

What it runs

Plant-scale power

At 250kVA you are usually powering a process rather than a building. The set is part of the plant, and it gets treated that way.

Manufacturing lines, water and wastewater sites, distribution facilities and major construction programs all sit around this size. The load is continuous, the site is unforgiving, and the cost of an unplanned stop is measured in production rather than inconvenience.

We hold 250kVA in the standard hire fleet. Sets at this size can be synchronised to run in series for redundancy and load bearing, and long contracts run with scheduled refuelling, remote monitoring and servicing through the hire rather than a machine left in a corner to fend for itself.

  • Continuous duty Sized and serviced for a load that runs around the clock, not in bursts.
  • Parallel-ready Synchronise sets for redundancy, load bearing and offline servicing.
  • In-house from end to end Our own transport, our own electricians, our own refuelling and technicians.

It never goes out alone

A set on its own is rarely the whole job. The gear that gets it connected and keeps it running is held in our Kilsyth yard.

  • Refuelling trucks
  • Delivery tilt trays
  • Crane trucks
  • Industrial fuel cells
  • Temporary switchboards
  • Cable ramps and covers
  • Lighting towers
  • Load banks
What happens next

From your call to power on

No triage queue and no handballing. The person who picks up is the person organising your set.

  1. You call, we answer

A real person on the phone any hour of any day, not an after-hours message bank. Tell us the site and what has gone down.

  2. We size it on the call

Our electricians and generator specialists work out what will carry the load now, and what the connection needs to look like.

  3. Dispatch and connect

The set goes out on our own float fleet, and our A-grade electricians make the connection and commission it on site.

  4. We stay accountable

Fuel management, monitoring and on-call technicians until your operation is back on, stable, and no longer needs us.

250kVA questions

Frequently asked

What will a 250kVA generator run?

A manufacturing or process line with motors and conveyors, a water or wastewater site, a distribution facility, or a major construction program with several cranes and site accommodation. At this size the load is usually continuous rather than intermittent.

Do you hold 250kVA in the fleet?

Yes, 250kVA is part of our standard hire fleet, held in Kilsyth. We run our own delivery and crane trucks, so placement and timing are ours to control rather than subcontracted.

Can sets be synchronised at this size?

Yes. Units at 100kVA and above can be synchronised to run in series, which provides redundancy, load bearing, and the ability to take one machine offline for service without dropping the site. We have designed and installed synchronised arrangements with ComAp control systems on utility projects.

How is fuel managed on a continuous-duty hire?

With our own refuelling trucks on a scheduled program, and where the duty warrants it, bulk on-site storage: industrial fuel cells and field tanks up to 60,000L systems. On a continuous load, running dry is the failure mode that matters, so it is planned rather than reacted to.

Can you commission it against real load?

Yes. We hold load banks for proof-of-capacity and commissioning tests under real, measured load, so you find out what the arrangement does before it matters rather than during an outage.

What does it cost to hire a 250kVA generator?

Contract length dominates, then the arrangement: single set or synchronised pair, monitoring, bulk fuel, switchboards and cable runs. Give us the duty, the duration and the site and we will quote the whole installation.
