Generator Hire

60kVA Generator Hire

The top of our small-set fleet, and the one we send when a job has outgrown drop-and-go: a full site compound, a supermarket's essentials, a commercial kitchen through an outage.

What it runs

Top of the small fleet

60kVA is the size that stops being a stopgap and starts being infrastructure. Still placeable almost anywhere, with enough capacity to run a working site rather than keep the lights on.

This is the workhorse of the small band. It will carry a site compound with sheds, amenities, task lighting and tools all live at once, a retail tenancy with full refrigeration, or a commercial kitchen where the equipment cannot be staggered to spread the starting load.

It is also the size most people land on after a sizing conversation, because it holds its voltage when several motors start close together. We hold 60kVA sets in Kilsyth, so a metropolitan job is usually same day or next day rather than a wait on stock.

  • Runs a whole compound Sheds, amenities, lighting and tools live together rather than taken in turns.
  • Steady under motor starts Holds voltage when compressors and refrigeration kick in close together.
  • Held in Kilsyth Real stock on the ground, so metro delivery is usually same day or next day.

It never goes out alone

A set on its own is rarely the whole job. The gear that gets it connected and keeps it running is held in our Kilsyth yard.

  • Refuelling trucks
  • Delivery tilt trays
  • Crane trucks
  • Industrial fuel cells
  • Temporary switchboards
  • Cable ramps and covers
  • Lighting towers
  • Load banks
What happens next

From your call to power on

No triage queue and no handballing. The person who picks up is the person organising your set.

  1. You call, we answer

A real person on the phone any hour of any day, not an after-hours message bank. Tell us the site and what has gone down.

  2. We size it on the call

Our electricians and generator specialists work out what will carry the load now, and what the connection needs to look like.

  3. Dispatch and connect

The set goes out on our own float fleet, and our A-grade electricians make the connection and commission it on site.

  4. We stay accountable

Fuel management, monitoring and on-call technicians until your operation is back on, stable, and no longer needs us.

60kVA questions

Frequently asked

What will a 60kVA generator run?

A full site compound with sheds, amenities, task lighting and hand tools live at the same time; a retail tenancy with its complete refrigeration load; or a commercial kitchen where the gear cannot be started in a convenient order. It is the size where you stop rationing what runs when.

Do you hold 60kVA sets in stock?

Yes. 60kVA is part of our standard hire fleet and we hold stock in Kilsyth, so a Melbourne metropolitan job is usually same day or next day. For an outage we are on call 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

Is a 60kVA quiet enough for a residential street?

The small sets are canopied rather than open, which is what makes them usable in retail strips, event sites and residential streets. If noise is the binding constraint on your site, say so early: our quietest builds sit at particular sizes and we will match you to the nearest one rather than send a machine that gets shut down by a complaint.

How much does it cost to hire a 60kVA generator?

It depends on the term, the site and what goes out with the set. Cabling, a temporary distribution board, fuel and delivery are all part of the job, so we quote the whole thing rather than a day rate that grows later.

Can it be refuelled while it runs?

Yes. We run our own refuelling trucks and can put a set on a scheduled refuelling program, so a long hire never runs dry. For short hires the machine goes out fuelled.

What if the load grows mid-hire?

Tell us and we swap it. Sites change: a stage gets added, a second cool room arrives, the program shifts. The fleet runs to 1500kVA and moving you up is a phone call rather than a new contract negotiation.
