The bridge between a site-shed set and the workhorse fleet. Enough for a working site with plant on it, still small enough to place without closing a lane.
80kVA is the point where a generator stops being a convenience and becomes the thing the site runs on. Plan the placement, plan the cable runs, and it will carry the day.
At this size you are usually powering a working site rather than a compound: welders, a compressor, hoists, task lighting and amenities, all drawing at once and none of them politely waiting their turn. It is also common on a building through a switchboard upgrade, where the essential services have to stay live for days rather than hours.
Our standard hire fleet steps 60kVA to 100kVA, so an 80kVA requirement goes out on whichever of those actually carries the load, and for anything with real motor starting that is the 100. We will name the machine when we quote so there is no surprise on delivery day.
Working construction sites, switchboard and mains upgrades, small manufacturing, aged care and childcare on backup, and multi-day event builds.
A set on its own is rarely the whole job. The gear that gets it connected and keeps it running is held in our Kilsyth yard.
No triage queue and no handballing. The person who picks up is the person organising your set.

Our electricians and generator specialists work out what will carry the load now, and what the connection needs to look like.
The set goes out on our own float fleet, and our A-grade electricians make the connection and commission it on site.
Fuel management, monitoring and on-call technicians until your operation is back on, stable, and no longer needs us.

The hire fleet runs from 20kVA to 1500kVA. If an 80kVA will not carry the starting load, we will tell you what will.

A working construction site with welders, a compressor, hoists, task lighting and amenities drawing at once; a small manufacturing floor; or a building's essential services through a mains or switchboard upgrade. It is sized for equipment starting on top of a steady base load rather than a tidy sequence.
Our standard hire fleet steps from 60kVA to 100kVA, so an 80kVA job goes out on whichever of those carries the load properly. Where there is real motor starting involved that is the 100kVA. We name the machine when we quote rather than leaving it to delivery day.
We size against the starting load, not the running load. Motors, compressors, refrigeration and hoists draw several times their running figure on start-up, and that peak sets the machine. Our free sizing calculator will give you an indicative number in a few minutes, and our team confirms it before anything is quoted.
Yes, and that is most of what this size does. We manage fuel on a scheduled program with our own refuelling trucks, and our technicians service the set through the hire rather than waiting for it to stop.
It goes out on our own tilt tray and is placed where the cable runs make sense, not just where the truck can stop. Our A-grade electricians make the connection, and we bring the temporary switchboard, cable ramps and covers the site needs to stay compliant.
Term, access, fuel and the distribution gear all move the figure, so we quote the whole job. Longer hires price better per week, and if the program is likely to extend, tell us up front and we will build that in rather than repricing later.
